No. 1 overall pick Jadeveon Clowney has been sidelined with a meniscus injury, but the Houston Texans finally have a target date set for his return.

When the Houston Texans take the field against the Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium on Sunday afternoon, they will once again be without the services of defensive end Jadeveon Clowney, who was selected with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft.

Clowney suffered a meniscus injury that required surgery at the beginning of September and he has not returned to the field since.

However, Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network provided some good news for the Texans fan base on Sunday morning, with news that Jadeveon Clowney should be returning to the team before the end of the month.

According to Rapoport, the target date for Clowney’s return is Oct. 20 against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Rapoport wrote:

Jadeveon Clowney has been plagued by injuries throughout the first few months of his NFL career, so hopefully he will be able to stay on the field once he makes his return to the team.
