For much of the offseason it’s been said that Steve Nash will not only be playing his final season for the Los Angeles Lakers this season but his final season in the NBA.

It’s of course extremely unlikely that Nash would be welcomed back by the Los Angeles Lakers though the veteran point guard seems to be reversing his stance on potential retirement.
A former two-time NBA MVP, Steve Nash has hinted on more than one occasion that he’s going to retire at season end though apparently feeling rather healthy (sans a sprained ankle) Nash suggested his retirement decision may now be determined by how he feels at season end.
“My health, enjoyment and effectiveness,” Nash said. “If I have a chance to play, it would have to be here. I’m not going to at this stage move somewhere else for a season and move my kids there.”
While signing with the Lakers seems very doubtful given their desire to get younger (and healthier) the Los Angeles Clippers have previously shown reported interest in Steve Nash, so might they be an option next year? If such is to be the case, Steve Nash will need to have a solid season with the Lakers and prove that he’s healthy and able to play.
He’ll never be much more than a rotational player at best given his age though you can never have too much wisdom and veteran presence on your roster.
Nash is expected to share time with Jeremy Lin and Jordan Clarkson for the Lakers this season.
