Before the San Francisco Giants began their regular season general manager Brian Sabean sat down the Pablo Sandoval’s representatives in hopes of getting a contract extension ironed out.

The two sides went back and forth for a few months before decided to end talks as Sabean and the Giants felt that Sandoval’s contractual requests were far too lucrative for their pockets. Has their stance changed at all? That remains to be seen though if the San Francisco Giants do let Pablo Sandoval hit the open market he’ll have no shortage of suitors.
We’ve already heard the Miami Marlins are interested in signing Pablo Sandoval though they won’t be alone as it’s possible the Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox may have interest in the man affectionately known as ‘Kung Fu Panda’.
"Nonetheless, most major league executives we’ve talked to believe Sandoval will wind up with a five-year deal worth about $100 million. That could be with the Red Sox, Yankees, or Dodgers."
All three of the above mentioned teams (four including the Marlins) have a need at the hot corner and Pablo Sandoval is likely to be the best third baseman on the market (assuming he makes it there). The San Francisco Giants do have a small window once their season ends to negotiate with Pablo Sandoval regarding a new deal though it’s not known how much they’ll be willing to pay for the Venezuelan native.
Can you imagine Pablo Sandoval heading to Southern California and playing for the Los Angeles Dodgers, the San Francisco Giants’ arch nemesis? Talk about potential drama.
