Although trade rumors continue to swirl around Boston Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo, general manager Danny Ainge seems to suggest a move is unlikely.

While taking his word for such is questionable, the recent hand injury suffered by Rondo has seemingly but any potential trade talk on a back burner. Might the broken hand be an issue that bothers the former Kentucky star for the rest of the season though?
Not according to Dr. Steven Shin who says Rajon Rondo’s broken hand is not the type of injury that will linger.
“First of all, it’s a very common injury,” Shin said. “And from what I read, he slipped in the bath. It can definitely happen from that mechanism of injury, a slip and fall or slip and falling on another object. For elite athletes, the fastest way for them to get back to playing is to get it fixed [with surgery].”
More importantly Shin went on to suggest that suffering the injury will not make Rajon Rondo more prone to further injury in the hand. That’s good news for not only the Boston Celtics but any other team who is looking to acquire the point guard as they won’t have to worry about Rondo suffering a setback to the hand because of the current injury
Rajon Rondo is still expected to miss the first ten or so games of the Boston Celtics’ season.
