New England Patriots’ quarterback Tom Brady has now passed for over 50,000 yards in his career

Despite Tom Brady not turning any heads this season and drawing more criticism than any other time in his career, the New England Patriots quarterback is still finding ways to break records. On Sunday night, he became the sixth quarterback in NFL history to throw for over 50,000 yards.

The five quarterbacks to complete this task before Tom Brady? Brett Favre, Peyton Manning, Dan Mario, Drew Brees, and John Elway.

It’s a testament to Tom Brady’s career to see him surpass this mark. Though the story has been beaten to death by the media, it’s hard to ignore where the future Hall of Fame quarterback came from: a seventh-round pick taking the place of Drew Bledsoe, eventually leading the franchise to their first Super Bowl in franchise history and three in total, all while kicking down records, breaking both franchise and NFL records.

With Tom Brady wanting to play until his 40s, this won’t be the last time he breaks a record. The most notable one? Career passing touchdowns. Currently at 363 (prior to the Bengals game), Tom Brady is fifth all-time behind Favre, Manning, Marino, and Brees, it’s in his grasp to usurp Marino, who threw 420 touchdowns. Depending on how Brees’ career plays out, there’s a chance Tom Brady surpasses him as well.

Remember, never count out Touchdown Tom.
