Although Chris Bosh flirted with the Houston Rockets in free agency, the Miami Heat power forward says he never wanted to leave South Beach.

While that may be a little difficult to believe, it’s the story Bosh is running with now given he’s signed long term with the Miami Heat and has become the face of the franchise, at least on the court given the injury woes to Dwyane Wade.
Bosh, speaking to NBA.com stated that he’s had the best time of his life while playing for the Miami Heat and didn’t want to lose that.
“I never wanted to leave. I’ve had the best time playing basketball that I’ve had in my life,” said Bosh. “Not only with the team but the city. ”
The Miami Heat were always willing to pay Chris Bosh the salary he desired so it’s a little odd to suggest he never wanted to leave yet seemed very close to signing with the Houston Rockets. Alas, he never did so but it wasn’t as if he was attempting to gain more leverage with the Miami Heat by flirting with the Houston Rockets. If Bosh was looking to do that he could have attempted to engage in contractual talks with other teams, though seemingly had a special place in his heart for Houston given the proximity to his hometown.
Still, at the end of the day Chris Bosh decided the best place for him was with the Miami Heat who ended up providing the veteran with a very healthy five-year, $118 million dollar deal.
I’m sure the extra cash flow made the decision a little easier.
