While the Denver Broncos are built around the passing attack of Peyton Manning, having a talented running back like Montee Ball is great insurance.

However that insurance may be null and void at this time as the Denver Broncos are reportedly fearful Montee Ball suffered a ‘major’ groin injury during Sunday’s victory over the Arizona Cardinals.
Reports after the game suggested that Ball was indeed injured and was likely to miss some time though how much was unknown. Now after a day of evaluation, it seems as if may be a worst case scenario as the Denver Broncos are reportedly bracing themselves for some bad news.
While losing Montee Ball for an extended period isn’t a back breaker for the Denver Broncos, it’s still a gut punching blow. Thankfully with Peyton Manning an an arsenal of elite receiving talent, Denver should be able to keep their head above water with Ball on the sidelines if he does indeed miss time.
As for his replacement, the Denver Broncos have yet to officially announce who will be given the starting spot though it’s likely that Ronnie Hillman (the most experienced of the current backfield) will handle the majority of duties while C.J. Anderson acts as his primary backup. Juwan Thompson could also see a small bit of playing time though isn’t likely to factor in as much.
Currently the Denver Broncos have yet to release a timetable for Montee Ball’s recovery/injury as the team waits for official word from the medical team.
