The Denver Nuggets and power forward Kenneth Faried have agreed to a five-year, $60 million contract extension according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports.

"Denver general manager Tim Connelly and Faried’s agent, Thad Foucher of Wasserman Media Group, started to seriously exchange proposals in the past week and ultimately came to terms on a deal Sunday night, sources told Yahoo Sports.Faried has developed into one of the NBA’s most relentless talents, a fierce rebounder and defender who has excelled offensively for the Nuggets when the game is speeded up."
Not only has Kenneth Faried played a key role for the Nuggets but he was excellent for Team USA in the FIBA World Cup this summer.
The deadline for players from the class of 2011 to sign extensions is October 31.
The Nuggets selected Kenneth Faried with the 22nd-overall pick of the first round of the 2011 NBA Draft. Kenneth Faried averaged 13.7 points, 8.6 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.9 blocks per game while shooting 54.5% from the free throw line last season. Kenneth Faried has gone for 12.1 points, 8.6 rebounds, 1.0 assists , 1.0 blocks and 0.9 steals per game while shooting 55.4% from the floor and 64.0% from the charity stripe in his three-year career.
