Thanks to a late home run from Matt Kemp the Los Angeles Dodgers avoided a disastrous scenario in their NLDS against the St. Louis Cardinals, tying the series up at 1-1 with Game 3 scheduled for Monday night.

More from Los Angeles Dodgers

It would take a fifth game for the series to return back to Southern California though if it does, rapper The Game has a message for all those supporting the Red Birds in Southern California.

Don’t do it.

Speaking to TMZ, The Game suggested you don’t want to be wearing the St. Louis Cardinals’ colors while in Los Angeles because you might get caught in the wrong neighborhood which wouldn’t work out in your best interests.

“It depends on where you out out here … because the Cardinals are red … you get caught slippin’ in the wrong hood, it might not be about baseball. It might be about baseball bats.”

Ah, baseball bats, yes the weapon of choice for members of the mob in 1902.

In all seriousness though fans do need to be careful, not so much because of the color or team they choose to represent but simply because of the poor choices some people make when intoxicated. We’ve already seen one fan be critically injured at Angels Stadium during last Friday’s contest between the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim and the Kansas City Royals.

For now the series will continue in St. Louis for the next two games with the fifth and final game (if needed) scheduled to be played at Dodgers stadium. If either the Los Angeles Dodgers or St. Louis Cardinals are to win both of the next two games, Game 5 would not be needed and nobody would need to be concerned about getting beaten by a baseball bat.
