First overall pick Andrew Wiggins made his preseason debut for the Minnesota Timberwolves against the Indiana Pacers, and he stuffed the box score.

When the Minnesota Timberwolves got Andrew Wiggins in return for sending Kevin Love to Cleveland, the entire dynamic of the team changed. Once focused on getting the ball to Love, Flip Saunders’ team will rely on the raw athleticism presented by guys like Andrew Wiggins, Zach LaVine, Gorgui Dieng and Ricky Rubio.

In his preseason debut Tuesday–a 103-90 loss to the Indiana Pacers–Andrew Wiggins shot four-of-11 from the field for 18 points with four rebounds, three assists, one steal, three blocks and two 3-pointers.

On one play, Andrew Wiggins led the fast break and found Corey Brewer for a transition dunk.

Andrew Wiggins is a raw talent with the potential to be a lock-down defender and above-average offensive player. He already has the passing skills and basketball instincts and, with all his athleticism, Andrew Wiggins is sure to be on the creating and finishing ends of plenty of fast breaks this season.

Saunders just needs to find ways to best use him, and it seems getting him in the open court is the best way to do it right now. Even if the Timberwolves aren’t very good, they will at least be fun to watch.
