Barry Sanders: Calvin Johnson is a shoo-in for the Hall of Fame
By Jack Crosby
Barry Sanders has no doubt that Calvin Johnson will be in the Hall of Fame someday
Barry Sanders is the greatest football player to ever don a Detroit Lions uniform. Very few people will argue this point, but what they also won’t argue is the fact that dynamic wide receiver Calvin Johnson is well on his way to becoming the known as the second best player in history to wear the Honolulu Blue top.

But, can Megatron land himself a place in the Pro Football Hall of Fame next to Sanders? As ridiculous as that question might sound to some, it’s one that is asked from time to time, and it just so happened to be posed to Sanders recently.
As for Sanders’ response, well, he certainly expects to be attending the enshrinement of Johnson in Canton one day.
“I think he’s that type of player, yeah,” Sanders said. “I think he’s certainly that type of player, and there’s no reason to believe he’s going to slow down or do anything different. He’s a dynamic player, and I think most players in the NFL would agree to that. So yeah, I would say he’s pretty much a shoo-in.”
Again, asking whether or not Johnson is a lock for the Hall of Fame could come across as insane to some, but you’re always going to have detractors for every subject.
For his career, Johnson has tallied 594 receptions with 9,676 yards and 68 touchdowns. In just his eighth year in the league, he has a lot of time to add to those stats even more coming up. Whether or not it will be in a Lions uniform, though, remains to be seen with time.
