Bayern Munich has a rather unique training technique they used before their match against Hamburg.
Footage of a Bayern Munich training session has given an insight into the type of drills the top teams are doing to keep themselves ahead of the competition. Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola was known for his innovative training techniques from his successful time as Barcelona manager and he has certainly brought this approach with him to the German side.

Clearly whatever Bayern are doing in training it is working for them, as they currently sit in 1st place in the Bundesliga, 4 points ahead of closest rivals Hoffenheim and 10 points ahead of title contenders Borussia Dortmund.
Guardiola knows how to get the best out of a group of players and seems to have a balance of strictness and determination combined with an environment where players can enjoy and express themselves.
This training ground footage from the Bayern Munich official Youtube account is an excellent example of this. Labelled ‘bucket ball’ it has players moving about in groups of three trying to keep the ball in the air and move towards to a bucket. The aim of this trio is to get the ball in the bucket before another rival trio can complete an obstacle course.
It is clear to see not only the level of skill of these Bayern Munich players with their keepy-uppy skills, but also their energy and enthusiasm for a training session. The team ethics and bonding in a training session are essential for a big club to function, as if everyone is united and behind the same cause, you are much more likely to be successful.
Here is the video of the Bayern Munich stars trying their hand at ‘bucket ball’:
Ironically, Bayern Munich actually went on to draw their game against Hamburg 0-0 on the following day, so maybe they could get in a bit of shooting practice during training as well as trying to get a ball into a bucket.
