Although Charles ‘Peanut’ Tillman is out for the season with yet another arm injury, the safety does have time to appear on a local television show which is exactly what he did on Monday evening.

More from Chicago Bears

Tillman not only spoke about the Chicago Bears heartbreaking loss to the Carolina Panthers but also talked about the epic twitter rant delivered by teammate Lamarr Houston.

Frustrated after the game, Houston took to social media where he blasted Chicago Bears fans for ‘hating’ on him and for casting doubt on the now 2-3 team.

So did Charles Tillman attempt to separate himself from Houston’s feelings? Not at all as ‘Peanut’ suggested some fans take the game too serious and they don’t want the truth.

“Everybody wants us to be honest and truthful,” Tillman said. “But y’all really don’t want us to be honest and truthful. Because when we are, you get mad. Everybody wants the truth but you really don’t want the truth.

“There are some fans out there that, in my opinion, take the game too seriously.”

While that may have not been the most politically correct thing to say to Chicago Bears fans, there is some truth to that, especially in terms of fans that take the game too serious.

If you’ve ever checked out the mentions of a professional athlete after a poor game or bad moment, some of the things that are said are nothing short of despicable. What was actually directed at Lamarr Houston which created his Twitter rant is unknown, though he likely had plenty of reason to be provoked.

It’s unfortunate that professional athletes can’t stick up for themselves given the beating they take, though, they may be better served staying off social media completely to avoid such.
