Detroit Lions rest Calvin Johnson, status uncertain for Week 6
Detroit Lions Pro Bowler Calvin Johnson may not play this weekend and that’s something that may not be the worst thing ever.
Calvin Johnson, or maybe better known as Megatron, says that he needs rest as he is dealing with a high ankle sprain. While playing Sunday against the Bills, Johnson aggravated the injury.

Johnson insisted that he would not be on the field solely as a decoy, however, he only caught one pass, and it was on that play that he was tackled, and aggravated his previously ailing ankle injury.
Today, rumblings started to surface that Johnson may not play this weekend against the Minnesota Vikings, and Adam Schefter all but confirmed it with his tweet this afternoon.
You never want to see a superstar go down, especially one that is as fun to watch as Calvin Johnson is. He hasn’t been himself this year, but he has also rarely been 100 percent, and now he appears farther away than at any other point thus far in the season.
Last weekend, Matthew Stafford had to key in on free agent acquisition Golden Tate, as he absorbed much of the offensive loss. However, with Reggie Bush and Joique Bell possibly out this weekend for the Lions was well, they could be looking for someone to step up in a big way.
Ryan Broyles and Golden Tate will likely see increased action, and Eric Ebron will need to continue his offensive emergence. George Winn will likely be the go to running back with Theo Riddick mixing in as well.
Detroit heads to Minnesota for a 12pm central time kickoff on Sunday.
