Denver Broncos tight end Julius Thomas will face some repercussions following a questionable hit on Arizona Cardinals defensive end Calais Campbell.
It looks as though Arizona Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians will get some justice. Earlier this week, he was vocal about an apparent chop block that Broncos tight end Julius Thomas placed on defensive end Calais Campbell. Though he was not suspended, it certainly appears to be a sign that the NFL is not ignoring the severity of the play in question. ESPN’s Adam Schefter tweeted that the fine amounts to $8,268.

What’s going through the mind of Campbell following Sunday? As expected, he has also been critical of the play.
“If my foot was stuck in the ground it could have put me out for a couple of years and this game is not about that kind of stuff. It’s not about getting injured. You want the best players on the field so we can perform, and play the game we love at a high level for the fans who pay their hard-earned money to watch” explained Campbell. “It kind of sucks I get taken off the field and have to miss a couple weeks on a play that could have been easily avoided. If I get chipped on that play, he still does a good job limiting my ability to rush the passer. We come back the next play and compete again.”
However, it would appear that he is not nearly on the same level of outrage that Arians, called the play “the dirtiest he’s ever seen,” is. Campbell said “I’ll let everyone else debate whether it was illegal or not.”
A suspension has yet to be handed down upon Thomas.
