Cristiano Ronaldo could retire at Real Madrid according to agent
Cristiano Ronaldo could keep playing for Real Madrid until his is 40 years old and end his career at the club, according to his agent Jorge Mendes. There have been rumors aplenty about the Portuguese star heading elsewhere for a new challenge at the end of the season, with speculation about a remarkable return to former club Manchester United gaining particular weight.

However, his agent has given his own take on the situation with Ronaldo, talking to Spanish radio station Cope “”Cristiano is very happy at Real Madrid. He is going to break all the records and will retire there. You will never find another player like him. He is getting better and will keep getting better until the age of 40.”
Whilst this will not stop the speculation entirely, it is a massive statement of intent on Ronaldo’s behalf that he intends to stay with Real Madrid and break records. He is certainly in the process of doing just that, with one more hat-trick required for the Ronaldo to have scored the most in La Liga history.
Mendes went on to say that Ronaldo “”has an affection for United because his heart was there for six years. But now all he thinks of is Real Madrid and he will always be here. Cristiano’s dream is to win another Champions League. He is never satisfied, he always wants more.”
It will be a blow to Man United fans who were holding onto the hope that Ronaldo would return sooner rather than later, with an £80 million bid apparently being readied. Real Madrid, however, are not in the position where they can be forced into accepting an offer.
Real are not and never have been a selling club and their financial situation is very comfortable. The new Financial Fair Play rules might force their hand if they continue to spend big in the transfer market, but it is hard to imagine they will sanction the sale of Ronaldo at any price.
