The Detroit Lions have banned the fan who was bothering Buffalo Bills’ players with a laser pointer during their week 5 game at Ford Field.

Police have caught the fan who was using a laser pointer during the week 5 game between the Detroit Lions and Buffalo Bills at Ford Field. Besides his troubles with law enforcement, that fan will no longer be welcome at Lions’ games.

According to Michael Rothstein of ESPN.com, the police caught the fan and the Lions acted swiftly to ban him from future games:

"“In 13 years, there’s been one incident,” Lewand said. “We feel like it is something that is a very serious incident, one that we’ve taken very seriously. We’ve dealt with it swiftly and with every weapon at our disposal, so to speak, and we certainly hope that the attention that we’ve paid to this will deter anybody who is thinking of doing this in the future and now they understand the ramifications.“And certainly our security will be on guard looking for things like laser pointers, but also other devices that people bring to the stadium.”"

This feels like a thing that went out of date a long time ago. Laser pointers? But this was something that clearly had an impact on the game because Bills’ quarterback Kyle Orton was affected by it at the time.

This is no joke, however. The season-ticket holder who gave that fan the ticket also has lost his tickets for the remainder of the season.
