A lot has been made this season over who is the best defensive back in the league and one name bantered around is New England Patriots newcomer Darrelle Revis. Last week Revis looked like his old self against the Cincinnati Bengals and now as his team prepares for the Buffalo Bills, their stud rookie receiver Sammy Watkins, will have to face Revis and it sounds like he expects to be covered by Revis all game long.
Sammy Watkins was asked about his match up versus Revis by Mike Rodak of ESPN. Sammy Watkins clearly thinks he will be facing Revis throughout game and expects him to follow him to different sides of the field.
"“We actually found he’s gonna be following me around the field, so I’m gonna have to be prepared for his jams,” Watkins said “He’s very smart. I have to be very competitive and smart off the ball.”“I think the scout team is doing a great job. I got those guys being a pest, so I can be ready to perform Sunday.”"
It sounds like Sammy Watkins is taking Revis seriously and even having the scout team defense try to replicate Revis’ tendencies to help prepare him for this Sunday. If Samy Watkins can put up a big game on Revis and the Patriots it will be quite a statement from a rookie receiver.
