Ron Roenicke will return as manager for Milwaukee Brewers

Ron Roenicke will return as manager for the Milwaukee Brewers in 2015.
The Milwaukee Brewers suffered a slow and painful collapse over the course of the second half of the 2014 season. The disappointment of missing the playoffs forced them to reassess a number of issues, including the job status of manager Ron Roenicke.

On Friday the Brewers announced that Roenicke will be back to manage the team for the 2015 season. It will be Roenicke’s fifth season as Brewers’ manager. He will not return his entire staff in tact, however.
Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports that the Brewers kept Roenicke but fired their hitting coach and first base coach.
"Brewers manager Ron Roenicke will be back for the final year of his contract in 2015, but he will oversee an altered coaching staff. The team on Friday dismissed hitting coach Johnny Narron after three seasons in the role, and first-base coach Garth Iorg after four seasons. The rest of the staff, including Roenicke, will return."
Roenicke is 335-313 in his tenure. His team has finished no higher than third place in the division the last three seasons after they earned an NL Central division title in his first season back in 2011.
With a few moves to plug holes on their roster, the Brewers should be in position to contend for a playoff spot once again in 2015. That’s the good news, but from Roenicke’s perspective, that likely means the leash is going to be short if things get off to a bad start.
