When you’re in pursuit of an offensive player carrying the ball, you know there will be blocks headed your way.

Of course, more often than not you’re in position to see the said block coming your way and can either get out of the way or at least put yourself in position to handle the incoming crunch. That’s not something an Oklahoma Sooner player can say today after he was nearly obliterated from existence on a devastating block.
During the Red River Rivalry, Texas Longhorns wide receiver Jaxon Shipley broke a few tackles and was running down the sideline with a full escort from his team. Eventually he ran out of space and ventured out of bounds. Sadly it didn’t happen soon enough for an Oklahoma Sooners defender who was giving chase.
Clearly behind the play the defensive back was looking ahead of him at the action unfolding near the sideline when he was blindsided with an atomic hit that knocked off his helmet in a rather scary fashion.
Keep your eye on No. 25 here and don’t look elsewhere.
As gnarly as that hit you can’t help but think of how dangerous such was. It doesn’t appear as if there was any major injury suffered which is pretty crazy given how hard he was hit by the Texas player.
Maybe the impact is what cause the goal post at the Texas-OU game to be so crooked.
