Duke Williams in the running for worst pass interference penalty of the year.
The Buffalo Bills have a chance to take sole possession of first place in the AFC East if they can beat the New England Patriots in Buffalo today.
As they well know, that is easier said than done. Buffalo cornerback Duke Williams was scorched by Patriot wideout Julian Edelman on this play, so Williams figured it was better to do this than to let the Patriots have an easy touchdown.

Well, if you are going to get flagged for pass interference anyway, you might as well get your money’s worth! Although a two-handed shove might be a little over-the-top. Just tackle him like a normal person!
Unfortunately for the Bills and Williams, the Patriots ended up getting the touchdown and a 7-0 lead on that drive anyway. The Bills have since tied the game at 7-7 after a touchdown pass from Kyle Orton to Robert Woods.
Hey, at least Williams threw his hat in the ring for the worst pass interference penalty of the season. Other team’s defensive backs still have ten more weeks to one-up the Duke. It will be pretty hard to top this blatant of a penalty though. Good luck to the contestants!
