College Football rankings: Week 8 AP Poll released; Mississippi State new No. 1

The AP Poll for Week 8 of the college football season has been released

While it did not have the excitement of Week 6, Week 7 of the college football season had its moments that showed us just how crazy this year is ultimately turning out to be.

One thing that we did find out for sure is that the Mississippi State Bulldogs are indeed for real. One week after they took apart the Texas A&M Aggies, they had a nice win over the defending SEC Champion Auburn Tigers. While the win over the Aggies was impressive, their victory over an Auburn team that we all know is good was a definitive statement.

Also on Saturday night, the Ole Miss Rebels went out of their way once again to show that they also are contenders in the national landscape, remaining undefeated by defeating Texas A&M.

We now know for sure that the SEC is changing and Mississippi is staking its claim to supremacy.

But, after all of the action on Saturday, how has the AP Poll changed? Well, here is a look at the updated standings that were released on Sunday:
