Heading into week 6, the fantasy football playoff race is starting to take shape. Regardless of how your first five weeks have gone down, it’s time to get your best team on the field to get things lined up for a playoff push through the remainder of the regular season. Here’s a quick look at some of the best and worst matchups of the week in the weekly start/sit for fantasy football week 6.

While your regular starters should be fairly established, matchups can change the value of certain players from week to week. If you have two players whose values are usually in the same ballpark, one way to decide who should be in your lineup or on the bench is the strength of their opponents. Pinpointing favorable matchups to attack and avoid can be key to fantasy success this week and through the rest of your season.
Before we start, here’s the usual disclaimer–these start/sit recommendations are not absolute. If you don’t have a comparable reaplacelement due to a roster crunch, sometimes you are forced to go with a player in a bad matchup. It’s important to understand the matchups, but don’t overthink and sit down a matchup-proof star or replace a regularly-productive player with a scrub. If you have lineup-specific questions follow @FansidedFantasy on twitter and hit us up with your question there. I’ll do my best to make sure you get an answer as soon as possible and definitely by kickoff.
Each week in this post, I also try to highlight a flier at each position who could have a big week despite being fairly lowly ranked in one-week salary leagues. These fliers aren’t meant to be used except in case of emergency, but they represent a significant gamble that does carry some upside. At least, these players should be monitored for future consideration.
