With the NBA season scheduled to tip in just a matter of weeks it seems as if the Cleveland Cavaliers want to know the plans of free agent guard, Ray Allen.

The Cavs have seemingly been the favorite to land Ray Allen all offseason despite significant interest from other suitors, though the 40-year-old has yet to declare if he’s going to play during the 2014-15 season or if he plans to retire.
Hoping to get a better understanding of his plans the Cavs front office contacted Ray Allen a few days ago though what was talked about is currently unknown.
"The Wizards are still hopeful, but suffice to say the Cavs are the front-runners as GM David Griffin has been in contact as recently as a few days ago, CSNwashington.com can confirm. Still, nothing."
With the Washington Wizards losing starting shooting guard Bradley Beal to injury there has been talk of Ray Allen being a replacement, though CSN Washington doesn’t believe the starting gig would be enough to sway the veteran.
As for the Cleveland Cavaliers they’ve already been accommodating towards Ray Allen by stating he would be allowed to miss training camp (as he’s currently doing) if he was to sign with the Cavs. LeBron James is said to heavily desire Ray Allen in Cleveland so you’d have to think if Ray Allen does decide to come back for yet another season, the Cleveland Cavaliers would be his likely choice.
There have also been rumors suggesting Ray Allen may not come back until the second half of the season in effort to preserve his body though that has yet to be confirmed and appears to be nothing but stretch speculation at this point.
