The war over the Washington Redskins franchise name continues to rage on though the team themselves may have jumped the shark today.

Redskins owner Daniel Snyder has been adamant about not wanting to change the moniker despite continued opposition and continually has been trying to give a positive PR spin on the name.

It seems as if it was more of the same today as the Washington Redskins posted a photo of a Native American family attending their game against the Arizona Cardinals.

While the Washington Redskins will obviously suggest otherwise this clearly seems to be an attempt at trying too hard to prove not everybody has a problem with the team name.

Simply put there are fans on both sides of the name but it’s likely the Washington Redskins would have been better served by not posting this photo along with the caption. Hopefully some poor intern who was likely ordered to post such doesn’t get fired because of the controversy this tweet is likely to spark.

It’s probably best Washington sticks with what they do best and that’s football, though, even that may be in question recently.
