Aaron Rodgers has second-most TD passes through 100 games

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has the second highest count for touchdown passes of any player through their first 100 NFL games.

The statistic about Aaron Rodgers comes courtesy of ESPN’s “Numbers Never Lie.” Who is first in that distinction? Hall of famer Dan Marino, owner of 420 career TD passes. Perhaps even more impressive is whom Rodgers is ahead of.

Look at those names right below him. There is another hall of famer, Johnny Unitas, at five. Peyton Manning, the five-time NFL MVP, is fourth. Number three is Brett Favre; the man whose career TD will likely fall to the aforementioned Manning this coming Sunday night. That is some pretty impressive company to be in.

What really speaks volumes are the men that are not to be found in this picture–Drew Brees and Tom Brady, 4th and 5th on the all time leader board respectively, are missing. Other historic greats such as Warren Moon, John Elway, and Joe Montana are left looking up at Rodgers too.

But perhaps the biggest astonishment is that he had a late start to all of this. Some people might be quick to forget that Rodgers had to sit behind Favre on the Packers depth chart at QB. It was not until his fourth NFL season that Rodgers was finally named the starter in place of the departing No. 4.
