There may not be a more polarizing team in the NBA outside of the Los Angeles Lakers given their uniquely talented though aging roster.

More from Los Angeles Lakers

Some believe the combination of Kobe Bryant, Carlos Boozer, Jeremy Lin and Steven Nash might be enough to get the Los Angeles Lakers back into playoff contention while others see nothing but the NBA’s draft lottery in their future.

What most could agree on however is the Los Angeles Lakers’ season will be tied to Kobe Bryant’s health. If Bryant struggles to return from injury it seems safe to assume the Lakers will fall on tough times, but what if he’s to remain healthy and resemble the iconic player we all know? Might the Los Angeles Lakers be a force in the tough Western Conference?

While that may be reaching Steve Kyler of Basketball Insiders could see the Lakers winning 45-48 games with a healthy Kobe Bryant.

"For the Lakers its about how many games can Kobe really play at a high level? If he can log 60 or more they could win 45-48 games."

Such a scenario unfolding would likely take a perfect storm for the Lakers as not only would Kobe Bryant need to remain healthy but they’d need contributions from the entire roster. That’s not to say it’s completely impossible because Kobe Bryant, assuming he returns to form, is a different animal and a strong season from both Carlos Boozer and Jeremy Lin could give him the support he needs.

Still it seems that everything would need to go right for the Los Angeles Lakers if they’re in the mix for the postseason and we know the chances of something going wrong are usually pretty high for every team in the NBA.
