Last year, Oklahoma City Thunder star forward Kevin Durant led the
in scoring (again), averaging 32.0 points per game.
Kevin Durant, however, is reportedly going to miss six-to-eight weeks with a Jones fracture, making Cleveland Cavaliers’ forward LeBron James the favorite to take home his fifth MVP Award. Of course, LeBron James, the league’s best player, probably would have been the favorite anyway but now he is an overwhelming favorite with 5/6 odds. Despite the injury, Durant is still 4/1 to win the award.
Next up is Los Angeles Clippers’ power forward Blake Griffin. Griffin took his game to another level last year, especially while star point guard Chris Paul (who has 16/1 odds to win) was out. He has 12/1 odds, followed by a returning former MVP, Chicago Bulls’ point guard Derrick Rose with 15/1 odds. Durant’s teammate, point guard Russell Westbrook, also has 15/1 odds.
