The Philadelphia 76ers are destined for yet another bad (and possibly record breaking) season which isn’t sitting well with many across the league.
Some rival NBA executives have questioned the tactics of the Philadelphia 76ers and shockingly it sounds as if they might be willing to trade their best player, former Rookie of the Year award winner Michael Carter-Williams.
Carter-Williams has expressed some frustration with the Philadelphia 76ers recently suggesting he wasn’t exactly fond of the way they’re doing business and the lack of desire to win, which could have irked a few within the Sixers organization.
Given everything, Grantland’s Zach Lowe believes the team could attempt to trade their point guard this season, something they’ve already allegedly tried to around the 2014 NBA Draft.
"They tried hard during the draft, but they couldn’t draw the trove they envisioned or guarantee that the player they wanted with an acquired pick would be there, per several league sources. Expect Philly to repeat the exercise. It’s not a shot at Carter-Williams, or even a signal that the Sixers are dying to trade him. He may well end up a long-term cog in Philly."
Lowe goes on to suggest that the Philadelphia 76ers understand that point guard is the easiest position in the league to replace and if they’re able to pull off a deal that benefits them, they won’t let Michael Carter-Williams stand in their way. Keep in mind they’re not trying to push him out of the door, rather exploring what type of talent he could bring them in return.
There’s really nothing wrong with that as the 76ers are simply doing their due dilligance though it’s doubtful Michael-Carter Williams will be a big fan of his name being on the block.
