Brian Hoyer is denying a report that he will leave the Browns if Johnny Manziel remains on the roster.
Cleveland Browns quarterback Brian Hoyer has had a strong start the 2014 NFL season, throwing seven touchdowns to just one interception in the team’s first five games.

With Hoyer also a free agent after this season, there are many questions about his future. One report in particular, courtesy of Bleacher Report’s Jason Cole, has grabbed the attention of football fans.
Cole reported that Hoyer would be unwilling to re-sign with the Browns if Johnny Manziel remainz on the team.
However, Hoyer denied the veracity of the report on Wednesday.

Hoyer also addressed the report on Tuesday to Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com, saying “I don’t think I need to say any more than I’m from Cleveland and this is where I want to be. But I also am a competitor, so I want to be somewhere where I’m playing.”
Despite Hoyer’s denial, it’s certainly possible that only one of Cleveland’s top two quarterbacks is on the roster next season. Hoyer wants to play for a team that will let him start and Manziel obviously doesn’t want to remain on the bench for the foreseeable future.
This should be one of the more interesting subplots of the 2015 NFL offseason.
