The 2014 FIFA World Cup Golden Boot winner, who signed with Real Madrid following a sensational campaign for his Colombia side this summer, showed why he is one of the most promising players in world soccer with this effort from outside of the box.

In a game that was tied 0-0 into the last quarter of the game, James stunned everyone with a goal that is worthy of winning any match.

The game finished 1-0 with James Rodriguez’s goal being the difference, but it was a fine effort for a Canada side currently ranked 117 places below Colombia. Colombia, currently 3rd in the world in the official FIFA rankings, have the likes of Rodriguez, Falcao and Cuadrado at their disposal, and reached the quarter finals of the 2014 World Cup — even without their star striker, Falcao.

With Falcao returning from injury and Rodriguez in the form of his life, Colombia are a side worth watching.

The international friendly was held at the Red Bull Arena in New Jersey, with Colombia scraping past Canada through Rodriguez’s effort. Also held at the stadium on Tuesday evening was a 5-1 win for Ecuador over El Salvador.
