Jeremy Guthrie Apologizes For ‘These O’s Ain’t Royal’ Shirt (Photo)

Kansas City Royals pitcher Jeremy Guthrie, who wore a ‘These O’s ain’t Royal’ t-shirt in an MLB press conference apologized for ‘mocking’ the Baltimore Orioles.

Unless you’re a Kansas City Royals fan you probably didn’t watch much (if any) of their post game conference after they defeated the Baltimore Orioles on Tuesday night, giving them a 3-0 series lead.

If you did happen to miss it then you didn’t get to see Kansas City Royals pitcher Jeremy Guthrie wearing a rather hilarious t-shirt which read ‘These O’s ain’t Royal’. That of course was a play on the Chris Brown song which suggests women of an ill repute aren’t loyal.

Guthrie’s shirt lit the internet on fire and Kansas City Royals fans across the country couldn’t get their mitts on one fast enough. But of course, Major League Baseball wasn’t exactly a fan of Jeremy Guthrie’s shirt and the Kansas City Royals pitcher decided to apologize for his choice of wardrobe today.

“My intention was not to anger O’s fans or friends w/my shirt 2night. I apologize to those offended. Did not consider this reaction. Go Royals,” Guthrie stated on Twitter.

Understandably, Baltimore Orioles fans weren’t overly thrilled with the t-shirt though those with a sense of humor couldn’t help but chuckle at Guthrie’s shirt despite their disappointment.

Jeremy Guthrie received the start in Game 3 for the Kansas City Royals and pitched very well, giving up just one earned run and three hits in five innings of action.

The Baltimore Orioles will attempt to keep their season alive with a victory in Wednesday’s Game 4 while Guthrie and his Kansas City Royals will attempt to punch their ticket to the World Series for the first time in nearly three decades.

Hopefully if the Kansas City Royals do advance, Guthrie will think of an equally creative shirt against their National League opponent, the San Francisco Giants or St. Louis Cardinals.
