It’s been a rough few weeks for San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick who has drawn the eye of the NFL’s offices.
First the signal caller was fined for alleged inappropriate language over what a referee stated was a racial slur directed at a Chicago Bears player, then the former Nevada star was popped for illegally wearing Beats headphones which the league doesn’t allow during NFL appearances.
Looking to make things right, Colin Kaepernick appeared at a Monday night press conference with tape over the headphone logos and now has had his fine reduced for inappropriate language according to Ian Rapoport.
#49ers QB Colin Kaepernick’s fine of $11,000 for inappropriate language was reduced by half, source says. No evidence of racial slur

While it’s nice of the NFL to admit they were incorrect that doesn’t take back the on-field penalty. Even more strange, the league admits there was no evidence of a racial slur yet didn’t fully remove the fine. So what exactly are they fining him for? Did he say something or did he not? If he used inappropriate language then the San Francisco 49ers quarterback should be fined. If he didn’t, Colin Kaepernick shouldn’t have to pay a dime.
Alas the NFL has proven themselves to be nearly impossible to predict when it comes to ‘punishment’ and more often than not, their explanations are nothing more than head-scratching in nature.
There’s no word if Colin Kaepernick will simply pay the fine given it was reduced in half or will continue with the legal process to get the fine fully removed. More than that, Kaepernick likely wants his name cleared of such as nobody wants to be accused of making a racist comment if nothing was said.
