Former Chicago Bulls and Charlotte Bobcats forward Tyrus Thomas is attempting an NBA comeback.

More from Charlotte Hornets

It appears as if Tyrus Thomas, who achieved his greatest ‘success’ with the Chicago Bulls will be joining the ranks of many former NBA players attempting a comeback this season.

There has been noise around the league in recent days suggesting former NBA talent like DeJuan Wagner and more are hoping to latch on with an NBA roster and such is the case for Tyrus Thomas who last played for the Charlotte Bobcats (now Hornets).

Tyrus Thomas was the 4th overall pick in the 2006 NBA Draft by the Portland Trail Blazers though was immediately sent to the Chicago Bulls in exchange for LaMarcus Aldridge. That deal likely still stings if you’re in the Windy City given how well Aldridge has played for the Blazers.

Meanwhile Tyrus Thomas struggled to make an impact with the Chicago Bulls where he spent parts of four seasons before eventually finding himself with the Bobcats.

There was hope a change of scenery would benefit the former LSU star yet shockingly Thomas’ game worsened after leaving the Chicago Bulls which seemed rather improbable. Another four year stint with the Bobcats turned out to be a waste and the tweener-forward was released and told to stay away from the Charlotte facility.

Thomas showed some promise during the early stage of his career as he averaged nearly 11 points and 6 rebounds per game for the Chicago Bulls in his third season though that was the pinnacle of his career as everything went downhill from there.

Hopefully his potential second time around in the NBA will go better. It certainly can’t go much worse.
