The World Series berth extended what has been a storybook season for the Royals and it ended a drought that lasted 29 years.
In order to celebrate the accomplishment by the current Royals team, the 1985 Kansas City Royals team got together for a lunch on Friday and Royals’ Hall of Famer Frank White had a gift for some of his former teammates.
White presented his fellow 1985 Kansas City Royals teammates with a customized bottle of Johnnie Walker Blue Label.
The bottle was engraved and read, “Here’s to a Royal Return, Keep Walking.” That message was also on bottles of Johnnie Walker Blue Label that was presented to the current team by current Kansas City catcher Salvador Pérez when the team reached the postseason a few weeks ago.
The bottle can be seen below:
Here is another look at the bottle being presented by White to 1985 Kansas City Royals teammate Greg Pryor.
The Royals begin their quest for the World Series title on Tuesday night, Oct. 21.
