Start praying for Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson is you hope he’ll be healthy enough to suit up on Sunday

Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson has not practiced for six straight days but his head coach Jim Caldwell is holding out hope for a miracle and some divine intervention to have Megatron on the field for Sunday’s game against the New Orleans Saints.

“I’ve been surprised before because he’s an unusual guy,” Caldwell said, via ESPN.com. “And just talking to him [Thursday] after practice, he’s feeling good and coming along, so miracles have happened.”

Johnson missed last week’s win against the Minnesota Vikings one week after having only one catch for seven yards against the Buffalo Bills and the week before had only two catches for 12 yards as the game’s best receiver has been dogged by his right ankle sprain, so a miracle is what it’ll take to get him on the field and back in fantasy football lineups?

“It would probably be fairly close to that in some cases,” Caldwell said. “But in this particular case, he’s a little different guy. These guys have an unbelievable tolerance for pain. The recovery is quick and he’s no different.

“When they take such great care of their bodies, you find the healing process happens a little bit quicker, as well.”

Johnson mentioned earlier in the week that he’s not going to come back until he can play like the player we have come to know and respect throughout his career, so barring a miracle and some divine intervention between now and Sunday morning, Johnson will be out for the second straight week as the Lions look to improve to 5-2 on the year.
