Blake Griffin of the Los Angeles Clippers suggests he will “probably” retaliate over more hard fouls.

More from Los Angeles Clippers

Few (if any) players in the NBA take more non-needed abuse than Los Angeles Clippers power forward Blake Griffin. Such was on display Friday night when Griffin became entangled with Trevor Booker of the Utah Jazz and the two had to be separated before a physical altercation took place.

For what it’s worth, Griffin, who’s been on the wrong side of many hard fouls has routinely restrained himself from going completely bonkers though appears to have hit a breaking point and suggested he will ‘probably’ retaliate over hard fouls in the future.

Griffin was asked about the continued hard knocks and was quizzed on if he’d fight back, to which he suggested, “Yeah, probably. I’m not going to do it for no reason or if it’s not warranted and I didn’t feel that was.”

There has been speculation around the NBA suggesting that some believe Blake Griffin carries a ‘soft’ label and given his previous reluctance to fight back, will continue to take the abuse. That however appears likely to change assuming Blake Griffin is to follow through with his ‘threat’.

Of course it’s not all sunshine and rainbow’s for Blake Griffin as he’s been known to throw some rouge elbows and shoves before, so don’t mistake this for a completely clean player getting ganged up upon. That’s not to say what’s happening to Blake Griffin is correct though it’s not as if players are doing it for no reason either. Clearly he has irritated some of his opponents with his own questionable play. Let’s face it – we don’t see opposing players taking shots at J.J. Redick all the time, right?

Hopefully the threat will be enough to keep opposing players away from hard fouls on Griffin as the last thing the Los Angeles Clippers need is for their star forward to get suspended.
