Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant says he’s ‘very concerned’ about Steve Nash’s injuries.

Given what we’ve seen from Steve Nash over the past two years, anybody expecting the point guard to play in a significant amount of games this season was wishfully thinking. Though for what it’s worth, Nash did come out and suggest he was the healthiest he had felt in years and believed he could be helpful to the Los Angeles Lakers this season.

That was of course before Nash ever saw game action and now the aging veteran is sidelined yet again with injury which has concerned franchise superstar Kobe Bryant.

Bryant, who himself has dealt with injury over the past year explained his concern to Serena Winters.

Steve Nash made some waves during the offseason when he suggested he wasn’t going to retire because he wanted to collect the money rightfully owed to him in the final year of his contract with the Los Angeles Lakers. His candidness rubbed some the wrong way and is likely to continue to do so if he can’t contribute much (if anything) to the team this season.

Even if he can, the Los Angeles Lakers are better giving Jeremy Lin and rookie Jordan Clarkson the majority of minutes at the point guard position as the franchise needs to see what they have in each player, especially given Nash will be gone at season end.

That’s still frustrating news for Kobe Bryant however as he was hoping a veteran core of he, Nash and Carlos Boozer would make the Los Angeles Lakers competitive this season. So far though, that’s not working out as planned.
