The last thing the Green Bay Packers needed was an early game scare involving quarterback Aaron Rodgers though that’s exactly what they got.
Not even a minute into the first quarter, Rodgers dropped back on a pass and with pressure coming off the corners, the Pro Bowl signal caller decided he’d attempt to better position himself in the pocket. That didn’t happen however as Rodgers lost his footing and slipped, falling to the ground.
That allowed a member of the Carolina Panthers’ defensive line to come in and lay a non-needed hit on the Green Bay Packers quarterback, though thankfully Aaron Rodgers was able to move enough to avoid a direct hit.
It’s not very often you see a quarterback like Aaron Rodgers lose his footing, especially in a situation like that where he looked well protected. Somebody on the equipment crew might hear about that as Rodgers’ spikes may not have been long enough.
Thankfully disaster was avoided as Aaron Rodgers got up on his own power and moments later threw a touchdown pass to Jordy Nelson. Still, you never want to see a player go down without contact as it will always breed a gasp or two.
