The Buffalo Bills afternoon went from bad to worse when they lost not one but two running backs to injuries. First, Fred Jackson was carted into the locker room with a groin injury, but the worst injury came when C.J. Spiller was carted away with a shoulder injury.
According to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, Spiller has been diagnosed with a broken collarbone.
Initial diagnosis is a broken collarbone for CJ Spiller. Fred Jackson will need an MRI on his groin. Rough day for the Bills

Prior to today’s game, Spiller lead the Bills is rushing yards with 234 on 68 carries, two of his attempts going for longer than 20 yards. Despite leading the team in rushing yards, Spiller was last amongst the Bills top three running backs in yards per carry, coming in at 3.4.
Spiller was also key in the passing game, having caught 13 passes for 106 yards and a touchdown.
The lone good news here is that Jackson’s groin injury may not be too severe. With Spiller out, the need for Jackson to return to the field increases as soon as possible, but if he too is out for an extended period, Buffalo will have to rely on third-string running backs or possibly a free agent to take the field behind Kyle Orton.
With a player option going into the summer, a prolonged absence makes it likely C.J. Spiller returns to the Bills to better improve his chances of cashing out in 2016 free agency.
