With DeMarco Murray currently leading the NFL not only in rushing yards but rushing attempts, it seems rather evident that the Dallas Cowboys have transitioned away from a pass-heavy squad and have before more balanced.

Hell, some might even say they’re more run eccentric through the first six weeks of the season.

Whatever the case, quarterback Tony Romo is not throwing the ball nearly as much as he’s done in the past though that’s because the Dallas Cowboys set things up that way. It’s not an accident that Murray is running the ball so much nor is it an accident that Romo is being relied upon less as Dallas Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett says the team was looking to reduce the burden on Romo this season.

Has it worked? So far, so good as not only are the Dallas Cowboys tied for the best record in the NFL but Tony Romo looks much improved. Yes, his back injury is better and not being so problematic as it has been in the past though he’s much more effiicent with his lighter work load.

Tony Romo is currently experiencing the second highest completion percentage of his career and has improved his quarterback rating by nearly four points in comparison to the 2013 season. It appears everything is clicking for Romo and the Cowboys as they look to be one of the NFL’s elite through a third of the year.

Hopefully Romo’s health will maintain and he can continue his Pro Bowl caliber play as the season goes on.
