Before the Minnesota Vikings opened their tilt against the Buffalo Bills, head coach Mike Zimmer suggested that he wanted to get Cordarrelle Patterson more involved in the offense. So far that plan has worked quite well as the young wide receiver (and sometimes running back) has already scored a touchdown in rather impressive fashion.
With the Vikings facing a first and goal situation, quarterback Teddy Bridgewater snapped the ball and dumped the ball off to Patterson after a three-step drop.
There appeared to be a relatively wide open lane for the speedy Cordarrelle Patterson to crawl into the end zone though that quickly closed off as Patterson was engaged by a defender. Although the two met, Patterson was able to keep his balance before running into another defender.
He wasn’t able to keep the explosive Patterson out of pay dirt however as the wideout stumbled into the end zone, giving the Minnesota Vikings a 10-7 lead at the time.
Clearly working with some nimble feet, that wasn’t exactly an easy score for Cordarrelle Patterson as some proper tackling likely would have wrapped him up. Still, some nice footwork helped get through the defense for the score.
