Before trading Percy Harvin to the New York Jets, the Seattle Seahawks reportedly offered the wide receiver to the Cleveland Browns in a potential deal for tight end Jordan Cameron.

Mid-season trades are a rarity in the NFL. Trades that involve the exchange of one player for another are even more rare, and even less likely yet is a deal that involves one prominent player for another.
In an apparent attempt to buck that trend, the Seattle Seahawks tried to use the talented but mercurial Percy Harvin to improve their situation at the tight end position. Specifically, they reportedly engaged the Cleveland Browns about a potential deal for their starting tight end Jordan Cameron.
From Ian Rapoport:
Imagine for a moment what that Browns team would have looked like. You would have actually been talking about a roster with Josh Gordon, Johnny Manziel, and Percy Harvin. There is no PR department big enough to tackle all of the challenges that situation would promise to present.
It appears that the Browns stuck with Cameron and avoided the potential risk with Harvin. Now a member of the Jets, Harvin is truly a high-risk, high-reward player. Of all the teams that the Seahawks might have discussed deals with, it is hardly surprising that the Jets were the team willing to take on the risk.
