New York Giants (+6.5) over Dallas Cowboys

This is a classic spot where the line is just inflated. The Giants were soundly outplayed in an embarrassing 27-0 loss to the Eagles last week, while the Cowboys shocked much of the NFL world by going into Seattle and emerging with a hard-fought win over the defending champs. With a gun to my head, the Cowboys are certainly the better team of the two on this field, but if we flashed back just one week, this line would likely be in the 3-point range, and a field goal spike is an overreaction to the recent past.

Dallas has been legitimately dominant in the running game, but with a mounting workload on RB DeMarco Murray, this may be the spot where they pull back the reins. More than that, however, the Giants simply cannot be as bad on offense as they were against Philly, and the Cowboys defense does not have the personnel to blank New York’s diverse offense, even without Rashad Jennings in the lineup.

I would stop short of picking the Giants to win outright, but nearly a touchdown is simply too much.
