While Percy Harvin never lived up to his on-field expectations with the Seattle Seahawks, few outside of the team knew the trouble he was experiencing off it. One person that did however was quarterback Russell Wilson who apparently wanted to help Harvin with his anger issues.
Wilson of course has previously admitted to having similar issues when he was younger and looked to be a prime candidate to help Harvin get past such demons. Of course, the Seattle Seahawks have an organization to run and if somebody was willing to take Harvin off their hands, as the New York Jets did, they felt they needed to make a move.
Still, it appears as if Russell Wilson wanted to reach out to his former teammate and offer a helping hand.
Despite speculation, Seahawks QB Russell Wilson actually wanted to help Parcy Harvin w anger & trust issues. Team gave up, not Wilson

Given what we know of Russell Wilson, it would not be shocking to see the Pro Bowl quarterback continue his effort to help Percy Harvin with his issues despite no longer being teammates. In fact, the more shocking scenario would be Wilson not helping.
It’s not known just how truthful some of the stories regarding Harvin are which include allegedly punching former teammate Golden Tate, though it does appear as if the Seattle Seahawks did attempt to help Harvin. Sadly for whatever reason though the relationship just continued to sour and the team simply felt as if they had to cut ties before the situation became toxic for all involved.
The last thing the Seattle Seahawks needed was a divided locker room as they attempt to repeat as Super Bowl champions.
