The San Francisco Giants are travelling to Kansas City this week for Game 1 of the 2014 World Series at Kauffman Stadium. As the baseball world prepares for what should be a fascinating match-up, one radio station in San Francisco is taking things to the next level with their loyalty to the Giants.
KFOG in San Francisco announced on their Facebook page that they will not play Lorde’s song “Royals” starting now and through the World Series.
The title of Lorde’s hit song is no coincidence. As a matter of fact, the inspiration for the song itself was a picture of viral sensation George Brett that she saw in ‘National Geographic’ magazine. Whether this is an argument for or against the Royals in the World Series is unclear, but that hit song is connected to their run to the World Series.
This is a good move by KFOG, but the Giants still have their work cut out for them if they are going to overcome the team that has Lorde, Ned Yost, and George Brett on their side.
