LeBron James Reveals Cleveland Sales Pitch, Sort Of

Cavaliers star LeBron James reveals how he is selling NBA stars on Cleveland, sort of.

According to sources, Cleveland Cavaliers SF LeBron James has given insight into his offseason recruitment of addition talent to the team.

The 4 time NBA MVP and 2 time champion has Cavs fans ecstatic about the team’s chances at winning their first championship next season. The city of Cleveland has not played host to a professional sports title since 1964, when the Browns took home the last of their NFL championships.

The acquisition of James has absolutely been a leading factor in the additions of current all star PF/C Kevin Love, as well as Shawn Marion, Mike Miller, and James Jones, the latter two of which had previously played with him in Miami. Many feel that the team in place right now can easily lay claim to the Eastern Conference’s number one seed. The expected trio of LeBron, Love, and all star PG Kyrie Irving have fans around the league buzzing about a new “Big Three” era.

But just what impact did LeBron actually have in recruiting these players over to Cleveland, a city not known for basketball championship lineage? The returning King had this to say to Yahoo Sports Marc J. Spears.

“It was nothing really,” James said. “Either you want to play here or you don’t.”

Something tells me we’re not getting the full story out of him so quickly. I find it difficult to believe such a blunt sales pitch would yield these kinds of results. Then again, there are lots of players that would love to play with King James. Just ask Carmelo Anthony.
