While the Cleveland Cavaliers and Washington Wizards have exchanged offseason insults, most would agree the biggest threat to the Cavs in the East are the Chicago Bulls. Both franchises have been rather respectful of each other including James who stated he believes the rival Bulls are the better team between the two.
At least that’s LeBron James’ feeling right now as he believes the Chicago Bulls’ chemistry makes them the better squad currently.
LeBron: I don't see a rivalry renewed w/the Bulls right now. We haven't done anything. They're much better than us right now. It's chemistry

While LeBron James may have a point, the Chicago Bulls are also bringing back Derrick Rose who has essentially missed two straight seasons and are attempting to incorporate Pau Gasol into their rotation. Needless to say it’s not as if they’re returning a unit that has played together for three seasons straight or anything like that.
Still the Chicago Bulls don’t nearly have the same challenge as the Cleveland Cavaliers who are essentially completely overhauled with the addition of James, Kevin Love, Shawn Marion and more. Players like Kyrie Irving and Dion Waiters will need to take a step back while most on the Chicago Bulls will return to their accustomed bench roles with Derrick Rose and Pau Gasol in the lineup.
LeBron James of course made sure to stress that right now he feels as if the Chicago Bulls are the better team when compared to the Cleveland Cavaliers, though that sentiment isn’t likely to last long for the NBA superstar.
As far as a lack of rivalry, it may not be overly intense currently though that will soon change once the two start battling for the Eastern Conference crown.
