There is a youth movement with the

Minnesota Timberwolves

. After trading star power forward Kevin Love to the

Cleveland Cavaliers

for the last two number one picks, swingman Andrew Wiggins and forward Anthony Bennett in the blockbuster

NBA

deal of the summer, that became obvious. That’s why there has been speculation center Nikola Pekovic could be the next player dealt.

Many believe the Timberwolves should consider dealing Nikola Pekovic in order to create room from Gorgui Dieng, who performed very well when he got the chance to play last year as a rookie.

“I think they should look to move him and return younger players in a deal,” Cody Taylor of Basketball Insiders explained. “The problem then lies is he is injury prone and is owed a lot of money on his contract so who would want to pick that contract up? Saunders eventually gave in and traded Kevin Love with the future in mind so you’d have to think he has thought about this situation before. It may be best to play him this season and prove he can stay healthy and perform at a high level and then trade him while the stock is high.”

The Timberwolves claim they have playoff aspirations, which is why they traded for forward Thaddeus Young in the Keivn Love deal, but realistically, they do not look like a playoff team and would probably be better off letting their kids play.

Nikola Pekovic averaged 17.4 points and 8.7 rebounds while shooting 54.0% from the field and 74.7% from the free throw line. In his four-year career, has put up 13.0 points and 6.8 rebounds per game while shooting 53.5% from the floor and 74.7% from the charity stripe. Nikola Pekovic was the 31st-overall pick in the second round of the 2008 NBA Draft.
