Sadly it seems as it’s becoming somewhat of a weekly occurrence but yet another fan is in critical condition after he was beaten at a professional sporting event.
This time the fight took place during a tailgate party in the Section 1E of the McCormick Place parking lot near Solider Field where the Miami Dolphins and Chicago Bears played their tilt on Sunday afternoon.
According to the Chicago Sun-Times, the man was found near his SUV with severe head trauma.
"The 57-year-old was at a tailgate before the game a few minutes before 11 a.m. in Section 1E of the McCormick Place parking lot when he got into an argument that turned physical, police said. The man was discovered “incapacitated” near his SUV with blunt trauma to the head and face, according to a police report."
The report seems to suggest that the victim was very intoxicated when he was taken to the hospital though that obviously doesn’t give anybody reason to harm an individual and leave them dealing with obvious trauma.
It is not known if the man was a fan of the Chicago Bears or the Miami Dolphins nor what started the alleged fight. The latest report by the Sun-Times also suggests that the latest condition of the man has not changed and he remains in critical condition.
Just a few weeks ago a fan was beaten in the parking lot of Angels Stadium after a game between the Los Angeles Angels and the Kansas City Royals. A San Francisco 49ers fan was also beaten so badly earlier this month, he is said to be partially paralyzed.
Sad a few bad apples can ruin the time of so many.
